In Our Church
Mission Team
The purpose of Missions/Outreach at Jones Memorial UMC is to provide opportunities in the mission of education, mission of experiences, and mission of support as we share the God’s love by serving the needs of the community, the country, and the world.
Music Team
Music is an important part of corporate worship. Through music, we pray, witness, learn, and convey Biblical truths. At Jones Memorial, three different Music Teams are used in our worship services.
Media Team
The Jones Media Team is a group of Sound and Video Graphics specialists. They operate the sound control board, the computer graphics presentation software, and video live-streaming in each Worship Service. Usually, six operators are needed each week. All equipment is ready to go and full training is offered.

Care Team
The Jones Memorial Care Team shines the light of Christ by reaching out to our members who are no longer able to attend. We serve through cards, calls, visits and more.

Hospitality Team
The vision of the Hospitality Team is to help people feel welcome at Jones Memorial. Greeters help folks feel comfortable when they come to church. After church a team makes Front Porch visits with guests as a follow up to their church attendance.
Bereavement Meals
Bereavement Meals are provided for persons who attend Jones Memorial, but are not members of small groups or classes. This group from the Care Team makes possible a time when the bereaved family can relax and be together during the stress of losing a family member.
Ushers & Greeters Team
As we transition our church services into one combined service, we will need to reconstitute our Usher Teams. Members of these teams will serve on a rotation basis with a goal of each member only serving three months out of the year.

Church Bus Ministry
Help is needed by picking up people in the community on Sunday Mornings & Wednesdays and making sure they are able to worship with us.

Worship Ministry Teams
People are needed to help in RoundTable Worship on Sundays as Greeters & Table Leaders & Communion Stewards & Altar Guild Assistants are needed to assist with Communion on the first Sunday of each month in the sanctuary.

Wednesday Night Dinner Volunteers
We are looking for a core group of volunteers who will be willing to assist Melanie with Wednesday Night dinners. If we can get enough, we would need two people each Wednesday, and hopefully just one Wednesday a month. These volunteers should be available @ 5:00 PM on Wednesday. Please respond if interested.

In Our Community
Annual BBQ & Coats for Kids
For over 40 years, Jones Memorial has hosted an Annual BBQ, which raises funds to provide new winter coats for children in the community. Additionally, funds raised through the Annual BBQ & Bake Sale have enabled support for Children's Ministry, Youth Ministry, Boy and Girl Scouts, and several other ministries.
Neighbors In Need Jr
The Neighbors In Need Jr program is designed to help children and youth in case of emergency situations with food, clothes, school supplies, and hygiene & medical kits. We partner with local schools, the Mission Team, and the Children’s Ministry to meet the needs in our community.
Food Pantry
The East Ridge Community Food Pantry serves the hungry in the East Ridge and surrounding areas. It is a cooperative ministry of several East Ridge churches, including Jones Memorial.
Neighbors In Need
The Neighbors in Needs program is designed to help individuals in case of emergency situations with food, formula & diapers, gas, and assistance questions.
In Our World
Mission Buckets
Every year, Jones Memorial joins with Methodist Churches around East Tennessee to provide much needed supplies for schools and orphanages in Zimbabwe and Liberia. This Hands-On Mission Project involves preparing school supplies, food, health supplies, or home kits for our neighbors in Africa.
Willow UMC, Alaska and other Missionaries
Jones Memorial supports many missionaries each year. A couple of these missionaries are Joe-d & Christina Dowling-Soka and the mission work of Willow United Methodist Church in Willow, AK. This church provides food and wood for their neighbors in need in and around Willow.
Cherokee Woodcutting Mission
Each year, the Mission Team sends a team to work in support of the Cherokee Woodcutting Mission, which provides much needed wood for the long and cold winter months in the Eastern North Carolina mountains.
